Week 2 of Session 6 has been all about growing our focus along with our plants! We have been learning so much about plants this week and getting our hands dirty. Both studios also participated in a challenge to earn points based on their focus during core skills.

We wrapped up Session 5 on Monday with our Newton’s Toy Workshop exhibition and began Session 6. This session our quest is to build a community garden! We are starting by learning what happens inside the plant cells and what plants need to grow.

We hope everyone had a great Mardi Gras break! Our heroes have 3 days left to prepare for exhibition so they are giving that their full focus. We look forward to seeing parents and guests of the Elementary Studio learners on Monday for the Newton’s Toy Workshop exhibition!Â

The end of the session is rapidly approaching, and our learners are working hard on wrapping up everything they need to submit their badges. We are also coming to the end of our Civilization book for the year. The heroes are excited to see what new learning opportunities await them in session 6!

We can’t believe it is already February! Session 5 is flying by and our heroes are on a journey to slay the “physics” dragon. It has been a week full of hands-on learning through constructing machines and testing them out.

Our learners are exploring different things and applying new knowledge daily! We had a larger emphasis on interpersonal skills this week by completing several team building challenges to strengthen our tribe. When our studio community is working well together our heroes grow in academics and their character!Â

The freeze narrowed down our week to only two days, but we made them count! Our learners dove right back into their routines and were determined to get the most out of their core skills time. Shout out to Charlie and Tucker who even took extra initiative to work on things over the weekend!

Session 5 started with a whirlwind of engaging activities that left our learners curious and excited about what is in store for the next several weeks. Exploring physics, pop art, and baking are just a few things that made a jam packed 4 days. We hope everyone had a happy holiday and are glad to be back!
