A Week of Celebration

Session 4 Weeks 2 & 3 Year 6

As the school year wound down, our final week was packed with creativity, collaboration, and celebration—an energizing send-off into the holidays.

The Elementary Studio proudly wrapped up their immersive Colonial Acton Quest, a journey that brought history vividly to life. After weeks of navigating King George’s taxes and proclamations, our learners decided they’d had enough—it was time to start a revolution! Taking a bold risk, they rolled the dice and won independence through teamwork, strategy, and a little luck. Not everyone emerged victorious, though. The loyalists were charged with treason and faced fitting (and humorous) consequences, including using bathroom passes and working at a desk. The experience was engaging, memorable, and a powerful way to understand the stakes and choices of the colonial era.

Meanwhile, our community connections continued to shine. During DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) time, the ES Heroes took turns reading to the Little Heroes. This special tradition remains a favorite for both groups, fostering leadership, confidence, and a shared love of reading. It’s always heartwarming to see older learners modeling enthusiasm for books while building meaningful relationships with their younger peers. Thanks to Lise for reading this week!

In PE, Jaxson stepped into a leadership role by using his martial arts training to guide the class through warm-up stretches. His focus, discipline, and confidence set a great tone and showed how personal passions can positively impact the whole community. Awesome job!

In cooking class, Mrs. Molley led the learners in a delicious hands-on experience connected to our current study of England. Learners made English muffins cut into fun winter shapes and enjoyed them with honey, jam, and tea. This cozy activity blended cultural learning with practical skills and gave everyone a taste—literally—of English tradition.

To cap off the week, learners celebrated the holidays during Fun Friday with a lively white elephant gift exchange. Laughter, surprises, and joyful moments filled the room as everyone embraced the spirit of giving and fun.

It was a memorable final week—full of learning, leadership, and laughter—that perfectly captured the heart of our school community.
