Session 7 Week 2 Year 2Week 2: Computer ProgrammingThe mini-quest this week is computer programming! The Quest Leader did the launches and created challenges for the Eagles. They revisited Scratch and did specific challenges on Journey Tracker.This quest takes the learners on a journey to better understand things like algorithms, loops, conditionals, debugging, and more!

The little Eagles worked on Scratch Jr and loved creating their houses and characters while using codes to make them move!

Writers Workshop: DraftingChallenge: Draft Your InstructionsThis week the challenge is to..Begin drafting their sets of instructions! To do this…This is your time to research, write, and put yourselves in the shoes of your audience.

1. Get the Drafting - Technical Writing worksheet from the Writer’s Workshop corner (or print it!).
2. Start with one set of instructions: brainstorm, outline, and then begin writing! You can create a handwritten, typed, or drawn first draft.Note: All instructions should begin with an introductory paragraph that explains what the user will be doing and why it is important.
3. Repeat this for each set of instructions.

While you are drafting, ask yourself:

• “What seems confusing?”
• “How can I make this point clearer?”
• “Is there anything in my instructions that would frustrate me as the user?”

Story bird Books!The Eagles book from last session's Writers' Workshop came in and the Eagles were SO excited to read each others book! They said how surreal it was to see their books in real life!
