Year 6 Session 7 Weeks 3 & 4
Over the past two weeks, our ES heroes have stayed busy learning, creating, and having fun together as we continue wrapping up an incredible school year!

One of the highlights was the series of learner-led mini quests. Mallory led a creative arts and crafts quest where learners explored their artistic side through sponge painting, designing key chains, and creating their own custom stickers. The heroes loved experimenting with different materials and showing off their creativity in unique ways.

Next, Charlie led an exciting model airplane quest focused on aerodynamics and engineering. Learners tested a variety of paper airplane designs to discover which styles flew the straightest and farthest. After gathering observations, they worked together in groups to design and build their own model airplanes using what they had learned. It was wonderful to watch the heroes collaborate, problem solve, and think like engineers!

In PE, the learners had a blast playing cooperative parachute games. These activities encouraged teamwork, communication, and lots of laughter as the heroes worked together to keep the parachute moving and complete different challenges.

We also held our final Parent Coffee of the year, and it was such a special way to celebrate our community together. One favorite moment was the creative drawing challenge where ES parents were able to participate with their children for some creative and hilarious fun. Followed by a wonderful discussion on convergent vs divergent thinking.

In art, the heroes tried something completely new — origami! Learners practiced patience and focus as they folded paper into different creations while learning about this traditional art form.

For Fun Friday, the heroes enjoyed games and watched Finding Nemo, which sparked great conversations about the Hero’s Journey and the challenges characters face while growing and learning.

Finally, congratulations to Karley for leveling up in reading and earning her LK-Reading badge! We are so proud of her hard work and perseverance. Also, wishing a happy birthday to Mallory, we hope you had the best day ever!!
