Year 4, Session 7, Week 5
This week the heroes are wrapping up all of their projects in preparation for the exhibition next Thursday. We also gained a new hero in the Elementary Studio - welcome Adley, we are so excited that you will be joining us next year!
In PE, Kain and Charlie taught the other learners how to properly break boards using martial arts. Next up was a game of duck, duck, goose. Afterwards, everyone had a great time playing “Icicle of Doom”!
On Wednesday, the Montessori studio baked a chocolate cake. They took turns measuring the ingredients, cracking eggs, and stirring the batter. When it was finished they enjoyed it for dessert after lunch!
In the Elementary Studio, Charlie, Harper and Aubri all led a quest this week. Charlie finished his drawing quest with a competition to see who could draw the best chicken within scenery. Harper led an art quest focusing on landscapes and space. She created a boys vs girls team challenge to see who could create the best landscape painting and the girls won! Aubri led the first day of her baking quest by guiding the heroes through baking strawberry brownies. The heroes were able to eat the brownies at the end of the closing circle.
During art on Thursday, the learners finished up their solar system paintings and then created a mixed media masterpiece of kites in the sky! They painted the background blue, used cotton balls for the clouds, construction paper for the kites, and yarn for the string.
The Montessori heroes have been working hard on their performance for the exhibition and have been putting together a special art project. We can’t wait for parents and guests to see the finished product!
Meditation and yoga time!
The learners earned a Popsicle surprise for all of the hard work they put in during core skills! Way to stay in flow and focused, heroes!
